HYPERLINK builds a clickable link — to websites, files, or other sheets in the same workbook.

Syntax

=HYPERLINK(link_location, [friendly_name])
Argument What it means
link_location URL, file path, or “#Sheet!A1” for internal links.
friendly_name Text to show.

Examples

Example 1

=HYPERLINK("#'"&A2&"'!A1", "Go to "&A2)

An index sheet linking to every tab listed in column A.

Example 2

=HYPERLINK("https://www.google.com/search?q="&A2, "Search")

Search a value on the web.
