IFERROR returns your chosen value when a formula results in any error (#N/A, #DIV/0!, #VALUE!…), otherwise the normal result.

Syntax

=IFERROR(value, value_if_error)
Argument What it means
value The formula to check.
value_if_error What to show instead of an error.

Examples

Example 1

=IFERROR(C2/B2, 0)

Growth % without #DIV/0! when last year was zero.

Example 2

=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2, Prices, 2, FALSE), "Not found")

Friendly message for missing codes.

💡 IFERROR hides every error, including typos in ranges. For lookups, IFNA hides only “not found” and lets real mistakes show.
