  1. List rows present in a table
  2. Update a row
  3. Practice
  • The connector only sees Tables (Ctrl+T), not plain ranges. Give them names (Claims).
  • Store the file in OneDrive or SharePoint, not on a local drive.

List rows present in a table

  • Filter Query (OData): Status eq 'Submitted', Amount gt 100000. Filtering here is faster than a Condition after.
  • DateTime Format: ISO 8601. Otherwise dates arrive as Excel serial numbers like 46300.
  • Pagination: Settings > Pagination on, threshold 5000. By default only 256 rows come back.

Update a row

Update a row needs a Key Column (ClaimID) and Key Value. Keep a unique ID column in every table you update.

⚠️ If someone has the workbook open for editing, updates can fail with “file locked”. Retry policies help; for busy processes use a SharePoint list or Dataverse instead of Excel.
πŸ’‘ Column names with spaces become item()?['Claim Amount'] in expressions; short names without spaces keep expressions readable.

Practice

Upload the claims workbook to OneDrive and list only Submitted rows over β‚Ή1,00,000 (one row: EC-102). Build it in your own Microsoft 365 account at make.powerautomate.com, test it with the practice file, and check the run history.
