MEDIAN returns the middle value — more representative than AVERAGE when a few huge values distort the mean (salaries, property prices).

Syntax

=MEDIAN(number1, [number2], ...)
Argument What it means
number1 Numbers or ranges.

Examples

Example 1

=MEDIAN(C2:C200)

Typical salary, not skewed by a few very high ones.
