TRANSPOSE turns a vertical range horizontal and vice versa, and stays linked to the source.

Syntax

=TRANSPOSE(array)
Argument What it means
array Range to flip.

Examples

Example 1

=TRANSPOSE(A1:A12)

Months down a column become months across a row (spills in Excel 365; Ctrl+Shift+Enter in older versions).

💡 One-off flip without a formula: Copy → Paste Special → Transpose.
