TRIMMEAN drops a share of the highest and lowest values and averages the rest, much like judges scoring gymnastics. One giant order stops distorting your “typical” order value.
Syntax
=TRIMMEAN(array, percent)

Total share to exclude, split between top and bottom. 0.2 drops 10% at each end.
Examples
Example 1
=TRIMMEAN(E2:E500, 0.1)
Average order value without the top and bottom 5%.
💡 Excel rounds the number of excluded points down to an even number, so on small ranges 0.1 may drop nothing at all.
