AutoHotkey (free, Windows) turns keystrokes into actions. These scripts use AutoHotkey v2 syntax. Install it from autohotkey.com, save the code in a file ending in .ahk, and double-click to run. Put a shortcut to it in your Startup folder (Win+R → shell:startup) to run it every time you log in.

Older tutorials use AutoHotkey v1 syntax (no parentheses, Send, text). v1 scripts do not run under v2 without changes. See also text expansion basics.
