TRANSLATE uses Microsoft’s translation service to translate text between languages, right in the sheet.

Syntax

=TRANSLATE(text, [source_language], [target_language])
Argument What it means
target_language Language code such as “hi”, “en”, “ta”.

Examples

Example 1

=TRANSLATE(B2, "en", "hi")

Product names in Hindi for a local catalogue.

💡 It needs an internet connection and sends the text to Microsoft. Do not use it on confidential data.
