Google Lens isn’t only for phones. In Chrome on a computer it can search using an image — or any part of your screen.

How to use it
- Right-click an image → Search with Google Lens.
- Or, on recent Chrome versions, use the Lens icon in the address bar to select any area of the page, including video frames and screenshots.
- On images.google.com you can also upload a photo from your computer.
Useful things to do
- Copy text from an image: choose the Text tab, select and copy — great for screenshots of tables or error messages.
- Translate: menus, signs and documents in another language, overlaid in place.
- Identify things: plants, landmarks, products, a piece of furniture you want to buy.
- Check a photo’s origin: “Find image source” shows where else an image appears — useful for spotting fake news photos and fake seller listings.
- Homework help: maths and science questions in a picture.
⚠️ Lens sends the image to Google. Don’t use it on screenshots containing personal documents, bank details or confidential work data.
