In a review meeting someone always asks “can we see the East numbers?” Zoom lets you jump there and back without scrolling through 30 slides.

Sections first

In the slide sorter or thumbnail pane: right-click before a slide > Add Section > name it (Summary, North, South, West, East). Collapse sections to reorder whole blocks.

Three kinds of Zoom (Insert > Zoom)

Zoom Does
Summary Zoom Builds a contents slide of tiles, one per section
Section Zoom One tile linking to a section
Slide Zoom One tile linking to a single slide

By default a section zoom returns to the zoom slide after the section ends (Zoom tab > Return to Zoom). That’s what makes it feel like an app.

πŸ’‘ Zoom tiles show a live thumbnail of the target. Change the image (Zoom tab > Change Image) to a clean icon or region map for a neater menu.

Zoom needs Microsoft 365 or PowerPoint 2019+; older versions show a static picture.

Practice

Download the practice deck: the first slide lists the tasks.
